ECOFRIG, HIDECOR and NCCoPP have remarkably worked together to demonstrate how the goals of bilateral development assistance combined with multilateral funding can effectively strengthen the Montreal Protocol and assist a major Article 5 country in complying with its obligations.

With this award the efforts of all implementing agencies as well as their national and international partners have also been recognized.

  About NCCoPP

NCCoPP
The National CFC Consumption Phase-out Plan (NCCoPP) is India's final CFC phase-out project in the RAC Service Sector. The project targets to phase out CFC consumption in this sector by 1st January 2010 in compliance with the Montreal Protocol schedules.

  Technician Training

Technician Training
Training constitutes one of the main efforts under NCCoPP. Training is offered to Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) technicians all over India through Training Cells in all the major states.

  MAC Training

MAC Training Program

The Mobile Air Conditioning (MAC) sector comprises around 6000 enterprises, of which approximately every third enterprise is in the unorganized sector. Since 2003, most new units have been fitted with HFC-134a compressors. But a large population of vehicles, approximately 2 million, continues to depend on CFC-12. If no retrofit option is available, this sector will still require a significant amount of CFC-12 for servicing beyond 2010.

  OTC Training

OTC Training Program

Open Type Compressor Training Program: There are a number of Institutional and similar application cum cluster oriented refrigeration and air-conditioning applications in India. These have been reasonably well identified during the formulation of National CFC Consumption Phase-out Plan (NCCoPP). The refrigeration systems used in these applications especially pre 2003 are based on CFC-12. Most of these units use Open Type Compressors (OTC). It is well experienced that in such units the leakage rate of refrigerant is quite large. It is basically due to the nature of equipment design.

  Dealers Workshop

Dealers Workshop
Dealers are the prime point of contact for all refrigeration servicing enterprises (RSEs) and can therefore become an important 'agent for change' pointing out to technicians that they must start using new technologies and learn how to use them properly. Dealers’ workshops are therefore a good point of contact, enabling project partners to exchange ideas and to enlist their support throughout the States for encouraging technicians to undertake training and disseminate project information.
